La Marcia di Finlandia, scritta nel 1837 da Erik Eriksson, Sottufficiale in servizio presso la Banda Musicale del Battaglione Fucilieri del Reggimento Finlandese della Guardia in seno all'Armata Imperiale Russa. La celebrità del brano crebbe notevolmente non soltanto in Russia e Finlandia (all'epoca ancora parte della Russia Imperiale), ma anche in Germania. Al di fuori della Finlandia, questa Marcia Militare è nota col nome di «Марш из Петербурга / Marš iz Peterburga» o, nell'equivalente titolo tedesco, «Marsch aus Peterburg / Petersburger Marsch» ovvero «Marcia da Pietroburgo / Marcia Pietroburghese». È, tutt'ora, parte del repertorio ufficiale delle Bande Militari di Finlandia, Russia e Germania.

Finland's March written in 1837 by Erik Eriksson, Non-Commissioned Officer in the Band of the Riflemen Battalion of the Finnish Guard Regiment of the Russian Imperial Army. The popularity of this Military March grew up not only in Finland and Russia, but also in Germany. Outside Finland, it's known under the title of «Марш из Петербурга / Marsh iz Peterburga» or, with its German title, «Marsch aus Peterburg / Petersburger Marsch» meaning «March from Saint Petersburg». Nowdays it's part of the official repertoire of the Military Bands of Finland, Russia and Germany.
